Camping

I love to camp! I was disappointed that Landon and I couldn't make it to the Holbrook's reunion camping weekend. I had a lot of fun last year. But since it was the weekend I was due, I didn't want to take any chances of being too far from home if I were to go in labor.

I look forward to our yearly camping/hunting trips to the West Fork. It is so beautiful there and I have so many memories. This year we were able to stay the entire week. It was so nice. I was a little worried at first to bring Hayley being so young (2 weeks) but it ended up being fine. The weather was pretty good. Hayley and I mainly stayed in my parents trailer while the boys went out hunting. It's so nice to get away.

Here is a picture of a moose that I saw just off one of the main roads. I seen a moose there in the same place last year. I wonder if it is the same one. ** shrug **

My brother John carved Hayley's name into a quakey tree as well as the year. It will be interesing to see if we can find the same tree when we go camping next year. As long as the tree stays standing and we are able to find it later, I think Hayley will enjoy seeing the tree.

Here is a picture of my John, Landon and my Dad. We would drive them to the top of the mountain and then they would hike hours back to camp while hunting elk. They hiked forever every morning and night but got very little shots and seen very few elk. I felt bad for them. At least they were able to enjoy the beautiful scenery around them.

Here is a picture of Hayley with her Grandma Fausett. You can see Kizmet lounging on the couch. : ) I think he was just trying to find his way into the picture. he he he

Here is a picture of Hayley and me outside enjoying the beautiful weather.

I love this picture! Hayley didn't fit into very much of the camoflague that we bought for her, but this hat fit well enought we could take her picture. She's just so cute!

A new beginning!

It's an amazing feeling to be a mom. I always wondered how I would adjust, if I would adjust and how hard it would be. Everything has come pretty naturally. I couldn't imagine life without my little Hayleybug. She really is a blessing and a gift! I can't say that my first experience of labor and delivery was the best, but no need for a negative story now. It was all worth it!

Hayley was born on 8/18/08 at 11:33am after more than 34 hours of labor. She weighed in at 7 lbs 13 oz and was 19.5 inches long. Here are a few pictures during her first few hours/days.

BABY HAYLEY

She definitely wasn't happy with her first bath.

Hayley and her Uncle John.

Here is a picture of some flowers I received. They are actually little baby socks. They look so cute!

Here is a picture of me on my due date, just 3 days before Hayley was born. YOWSER! I was big... he he he
